However having a 15 year-long personal experience with the Council of Europe, if I may, beyond this add, carpet cleaning that I fully share the spirit and the targets of the Juncker-report on how to confirm the Council of Europe’s role in order to become a more effective partner in building Europe. I personally particularly welcomed his recommendation on the required profile of the future candidates for the post of the Secretary General, who should be „leading political figures, whose past work for democratic security has already given them a high and positive profile”. Apparently Prime Minister Juncker’s recommendations – and the subsequent ministerial decision on their implementation – have had a considerable positive effect: I have to compete with excellent candidates who deserve all my personal and professional respect, and I feel really honoured to be a part of this contest. I also believe that the Ministers and their deputies are fully entitled to form an opinion on the candidates.
